Commonly Used Measurements & Equivalents

teaspoon= 1/3 tablespoon or 60 drops
1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons or 1/2 fluid ounce
1 cup = 16 tablespoons or 1/2 pint or 8 fluid ounces
1 pint = 2 cups or 16 fluid ounces
1 quart = 2 pints or 4 cups or 32 fluid ounces
1 gallon= 4 quarts or 8 pints or 16 cups or 128 fluid ounces               

t = tsp = teaspoon
T = tbsp = tablespoon
g = gr = gram
kg = kilogram

MARINATED TOMATOES

Today's Special

Best tomato dish ever!  If you like tomatoes, you'll love this! 
Next time you have a family gathering at the in-laws, bring  this
side dish and you’ll instantly become the favored relative!

Place tomatoes and onions in bowl. 
In a shaker, combine the remaining ingredients.
Shake well. Pour over tomatoes.
Cover and refrigerate for one hour.

6 large tomatoes
1/2 cup thinly- chopped green onions
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup fresh parsley, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced 
1 t  dried thyme
1/4 t ground pepper

Almond Bark Coated Popcorn Recipe

4 Reg. size Individual Bags-Microwave popcorn
24 oz pkg. almond bark (white chocolate)

1.    Line cookie tray with wax paper. 
2.    Pop microwave popcorn, one at a time and pick out and throw away all the popcorn seeds that didn't pop. Pour the popped popcorn out on cookie tray to let cool. 
3.    Then put almond bark in a medium size bowl and break up into pieces. Cook on high for 30 seconds, stir and cook another 30 seconds then stir again.  It should be in a liquid state; if not, heat another 15 seconds. 
4.    Immediately
evenly drizzle over the popped popcorn.
5.    Let cool to harden.  When chocolate completely hard break up into pieces and it’s ready to enjoy!
Individual snack/treat bags 8-10 servings   ***Optional*** also mix in pretzels, peanuts or mixed nuts, etc.

 

My granddaughter and I made this today.  We love cooking and sharing time together.

Broccoli Grape Salad

2 bunches if Broccoli Crowns – chopped
½ Red Onion - chopped
1 cup of red seedless grapes
½ cup Sunflower Seeds
1 cup Bacon Bits or real bacon

Dressing:
1 cup Mayo
2T. Red Wine Vinegar
½ cup Sugar

Oriental Salad

1 16 oz. Cole Slaw
1 cup Toasted Slivered Almonds
1 cup Sunflower Seeds
2 pkgs Raymen Chicken flavored noodles
2 bunches Green Onion - chopped

Dressing:
1 cup Oil
1/2 cup Vinegar
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Seasoning packets from Noodles
